First proposal of Common European Framework of Reference for Translation Level C (specialist translator)

This document is a preliminary proposal of a common European framework for translation in 5 key areas of specialization in translation (legal, economic and financial, technical, scientific, literary translation), including level descriptors for each area. It is a first proposal that cannot be validated during this project due to its time constraints (it is a 3-year-project). Validation will be performed in a future European project. The proposal resulting from this intellectual output can already be of great use in translator training, as well as for employers, accreditation bodies and translators themselves, as they will be able to prove their translation performance level in a new manner.
